Gran Toros Rarity and Variation Guide

I do not believe in price guides. Speaking to the publishers of price guides I've found that most publishers require that the prices increase with each edition. This creates artificial and false market values for collectable items. As with all collectables, price is determined by what the market will bear at any given time. Even averaging these values over time does not yield the artificial price increases required by publishers.
Keep in mind that most publishers are only interested in selling the next editions of the guides.

Since I am often asked for some sort of guide I've put together this rarity guide that is not based on price. For example, for many years the popular Mustang Boss 302 sold for more than the very rare Abarth 695ss. This guide is based on the relative rarity of the model/color/packaging and is based on all models being in Mint condition.

Late run with left over GranToros base. When the GranToros series was discontinued, Mattel S.p.A. (Mebetoys) switched over exclusively to the enamel paints. In addition, the tooling for the base was milled out to remove the 6627 GranToros model number and to add the A-102 Mebetoys model number (and the Mebetoys axels and wheels were added).
